✨What a great turnout at the Opening of the Francophonie Film Festival at the Light House Cinema yesterday evening! "Hors d'Haleine", a Luxembourgish film directed by Eric Lamhène and co-written by Rae Lynn Lee, has received great acclaim, with many viewers describing it as moving, heartfelt, and powerful. 🇱🇺 As a Luxembourg-Belgian co-production, the film explores themes of domestic violence, female friendship, and hope, aligning perfectly with this year's theme: "Femme and Francophonie". The French language is portrayed as an important piece of connection, communication, and solidarity between women of different backgrounds. Following the screening, an international buffet was served by 9 Embassies of the Francophonie group. It was an enriching opportunity to present the Irish public with delicious Luxembourg specialties such as the Kachkéis and the Pâté Riesling, as well as some traditions such as the upcoming Bretzelsonndeg on March 15. 🧀🥨 We want to thank everyone who participated to make this evening a success! Most importantly, a huge thank you goes out to the Ambassade de France en Irlande, the Alliance Française de Dublin and the Francophonie in Ireland for organizing and hosting such an inspiring event. 🤝 The Festival continues until Friday with 5 more screenings!
